Administration Building

Administration building for Virginia Toll Road. Low profile elevations contrast metal and glass surfaces & sunscreens with landscape & plantings. A cost-effective base of concrete block provides contrast to high-tech fasteners, metal materials, and sunscreens above. The 4,800 square feet design gives form to the demands of modern transportation and supporting facilities within a context of continuously moving cars.

Tollhouses

Tollhouses collect fees and permit access for the fourteen-mile Dulles Airport toll road at highway entries & exits. High-tech canopies and awnings with angular faces & edges relate to the wings of airplanes, in deference to the airport destination. The supportive structure and tollhouse canopies efficiently allow shelter and transactions for the kiosk below. Stop-and-go traffic flows easily within the pragmatic and simple statement of structure and purpose.
